In May 2016 the owner and management of Villa Maria approached Development Advisory Services Limited (DASL) with a view to DASL providing strategic development advisory services to assist Villa Maria with the long term planning of its significant property assets. Villa Maria is also a very sizeable property company with in excess of 20 large scale properties consisting of wineries, vineyards, cafes/restaurants, conference facilities and associated plant, machinery and infrastructure. The overall property portfolio has an area that is in excess of 500ha located in Auckland, Hawkes Bay and Marlborough. Initial work has involved a strategic asset review, investigation of funding streams and consideration of asset development options with a costs over $30 million.
