The Housing Partnership is the private sector development partner with the New Zealand Housing Foundation charitable trust for the mixed tenure 33 unit affordable home development in Avondale. Located close to the town centre and within walking distance of the train station this project is a collaboration between Auckland Council Property Ltd and the New Zealand Housing Foundation led by DASL as overall development manager.

Although a compact site, 33 affordable homes were proposed. A wide variety of master plan layouts were examined and an even wider range of housing typologies were explored. The overall project concept has been conceived by DASL based on extensive market research and in detailed discussion with project partner NZHF.

The project is being undertaken on a mixed tenure basis with 70% of the houses being shared equity and affordable rental and the remaining 30% being sold to the private market. The houses range from 3 to 5 bedrooms most with a garage and second carpark. The house designs are for stand-alone houses with some zero lot boundaries on small to medium sized sections. The designs vary based on location, orientation and contour.
